With the release of her new single this weekend, Dua Lipa announced: “Training season’s over.” By which she means “it is obviously about that feeling when you are just absolutely done telling people … men specifically, in this case, how to date you right,” as she told Cosmopolitan. And the pop star’s romantic dress from the 2024 BAFTAs after-party basically serves as a similar sartorial declaration.
The “Houdini” songstress stepped out to dance the night away in London on Sunday night. Her delightful party dress was a sheer black floral lace gown that featured a column construction, ultra-thin spaghetti straps, a bow beneath her bust with long strings that fell to mid-thigh for a touch of coquette, and a floor-grazing wispy feather skirt that completely covered her shoes. She accented the charming Valentino centerpiece with luxurious Tiffany & Co. jewelry, including diamond spiral cuff earrings and a choker necklace composed of large gold snowflake-like charms with a diamond-encrusted charm in the center, and a simple black leather clutch. For beauty, Lipa went for sultry, bronzy makeup complete with a shimmery brown smoky eye, nude lips, and a champagne manicure, and styled her iconic fiery tresses in voluminous, side-parted waves.
Lipa appears to have found love that “feels like a rodeo” in actor Callum Turner, who accompanied her to the star-studded fete. He coordinated with the singer, looking suave in a classic black suit and tie.
This was the singer and Barbie actor’s second bombshell look of the night. Her first was, of course, at the film-awards ceremony, where she made a bold, regal statement in traffic-halting red. The gorgeous vibrant Valentino gown had a high halter neck, a fitted bodice that cinched at the waist, a flowy floor-length skirt that hid her heels, soft pleats throughout, and a dramatic sheer trailing cape. Lipa added glamorous accessories in the form of a diamond-encrusted bracelet that looked like a koi fish wrapping around her wrist, a diamond ring, and structural diamond-adorned gold drop earrings.
Lipa took the stage in the audaciously red look to present the award for Outstanding British Film to The Zone of Interest, directed by Jonathan Glazer.
